The goal of this project is to create a travel experience that bridges the gap between inspiration and booking. Condé Nast Traveler’s content sparks ideas, but there is no seamless way for users to turn inspiration into a bookable, planned trip.
The challenge is to design a system that captures the excitement of travel discovery while supporting actionable next steps.
1. Static Itineraries
We started by creating editor-curated itineraries. Editors produced day-by-day guides for ten destinations, designed to inspire users and lead directly to bookings.
Phase 1 focused on using static content to support the planning journey without AI. We tested itinerary templates and layouts, exploring how editorial content could feel flexible and personalised. This phase also helped define how editors could manage content at scale and how it could later connect with booking data.
2. AI-Enhanced Itineraries
Building on Phase 1, Phase 2 introduces AI-powered itineraries to personalise recommendations and reflect user preferences. AI suggests alternative hotels, activities, and route sequences based on individual interests, while preserving the editorial voice. Users can generate dynamic itineraries, adapt them to their own dates, and explore destinations in a more interactive way.
This project explores a new approach to travel experiences, connecting inspiration with actionable planning. I contributed across research, journey mapping, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes, working closely with engineering, BI, CMS, editorial, and commerce teams to define content pipelines, interactions, and technical feasibility. The goal is to create a seamless, engaging end-to-end travel experience that keeps Condé Nast Traveler’s editorial voice at the centre.
